Sue Murray
Playwright
Award-winning writer Sue Murray is a playwright, author, editor and educator. Her first job after leaving university was as a juggling bunyip for a touring children’s theatre company. Since then, she’s always worked in some aspect of the arts and education. She is currently the Assistant Editor of The School Magazine, a literary magazine for children, a position that allows her to write plays, poems and other work while fostering a love of literature in young readers.
Sue’s plays are performed in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and elsewhere, and her original fiction for learners of English is read worldwide.
Anna McHugh
Teacher Notes Author
Anna McHugh is a writer, editor and teacher. She gained a doctorate from the University of Sydney and a second doctorate from Oxford University, where she taught medieval literature. She has also taught at the universities of Sydney and Bristol. Her other jobs have included selling carpets in Paris, dancing in London, being a historical advisor to Sony and tour-guiding around Scotland’s medieval sites. She has taught English and History in NSW schools. She is currently an editor for the Teaching Guides which accompany The School Magazine, and a teacher of the classical progymnasmata program. She is working on a monograph about the Speculative Grammarians, a group of medieval logicians.
